Players Guidebook Design & Print services for The PFA
• Brochure Design • Brochure Printing Service
Recent high profile incidents has highlighted the mental health issues that can affect footballers and management in the game today. To help counter these the Professional Footballers’ Assoociation (The PFA) asked Northstar Design to create a guidebook that would address many of the mental health issues encountered by players today in a practical yet engaging educational booklet.
Northstar teamed up with renowned illustrator Paul Trevillion (of ‘Roy of the Rovers’ fame) to create a 36 page A4 guidebook for the PFA and its players. The guidebook features Paul’s trademark style in a series of illustrations showing the pitfalls, issues and solutions facing players in the modern game. The illustrations are combined in an attractive and easy to use information booklet which aims to engage the reader. With quotes from many players past and present such as Paul Gascoigne, Neil Lenon and Stan Collymore, the handbook provides a practical and powerful resource.
The guidebook has also featured in the national press with the article appearing in the Daily Mail.
Annual report design and print – Professional Footballers Association,
• 48 page A4 Annual Report. • Full colour, matt laminated cover with spot UV varnish.
The design of an Annual Report for a high profile organisation is always an enjoyable task. It is made even more appealing when it is for a major player in the nations favourite game – The PFA.
Annual reports are a showcase for an organisation. They need to mirror the successes and aspirations. However, it also needs to deliver the information in a structured and logical format.
The PFA annual report design strikes a balance between style and substance. Exciting visual spreads appeal to the young football professional, but there is also clarity and a sense of purpose that reinforces the professionalism of the PFA.
Website Design and build services for a Lancashire based mountain rescue organisation-
This Lancashire mountain rescue team is run solely by volunteers, and money as always is in short supply. Even though they had a limited budget they specified a site that with some specific and high-end features. The main request was for the site to be completely (and easily) updateable. We provided a comprehensive content management solution that enabled quick and easy editing of content.
The system also had to integrate with a facility for visitors to purchase and download images from events as well as make donations online via Paypal. On top of this was a request for an event management tool that enables the team to advertise and manage forthcoming fund raising events.
